(I'm getting behind again) These pictures are from 2 different trips to the wetlands and netted at least one surprise for me. 
Tiny turtle
I've beginning to think of this duck group as "the Seven Sisters"......and they are always chowing down on the duckweeds when I get there!
I like the irridescent look of the black one's feathers.
ssssssssnake! Tom from the Ohio Nature Blog, assures me that this is a Black Rat Snake. Thanks, Tom!
The Great Blue was standing in the shallows.
I think they are ugly from the front...... why is it that I always think.... "Thanksgiving drumsticks" when they turn this direction????
He took off and relanded, but of course I wasn't able to track and photograph anything but a partial landing.....sigh. Better than nothing! I always miss the swallows swooping over the lake, too.

The following was my big surprise! I love it when I get home and discover I took a picture of something I didn't even see at the time!!! I was photographing the hole in the tree and when I put it on the computer discovered the HONEYCOMBS hanging down under it!!! Cool! Now I want to go back and look at them!

.....even growing out of the logs!
The water in the creek part is really getting green. I like the "maze" of marks across it.
A grackle in the tree cleaning its feathers.
I love when he fans his tail!
I haven't identified this wildflower yet.

Great shots Mary!! It has happened to me too, finding things in pictures when I have them on the computer and I love these surprises. LOL!!

Saphotographs: Cool isn't it? I've never seen honeycomb before...and didn't know it could be found hanging from a limb like that.
Birdlady: I can always find turtles of one size or another there :-) I didn't care much for the snake, either.
These are amazing, you must live in such a great place, to have these close by. Love the honeycomb suprise.

Those are great pictures. I especially love the first turtle! I think snakes are a little too scary for me. Wonderful set of photos again!

I'm going to take a wild guess that your white flower is Beardtongue. A member of the Snapdragon family.
That honeycomb was a special find. I didn't know they were even outside..

Becky: Thanks for the ID! I'm not very good with wildflower identifications. I just looked it up and that is a perfect match...Foxglove Beardtongue! I didn't know that about honeycomb either and was really amazed when I saw it in the picture. I wish my real eyes were as sharp as the camera's :-)
I love all of the pictures. Nice capture of the heron wings. The honeycomb! WOW! I've never seen one in the wild like that before! Did you steal the honey away from bees? ;-)
Sandpiper: I've never seen a honeycomb before and didn't see this one until I got home on the computer. I want to go back today and see if I can look at it more closely.
You are finding so much! My favourites of these all are the sweet little turtle with the beautiful markings and the dragonfly. What a great location that must be for finding things! Such a wonderful variety!
