I had two other posts set and ready to go....I've got old stuff from the weekend to use up, but a baby Downy is more exciting, so I'll just add my other post below :-)

How fun ... and exciting.
Oh they are SO cute Mary!! Thanks for sharing. I love the babies of all species.
And I thought normal Downy Peckers were cute - the youngsters are lovely!
Lesson 1. Stay near the feeders.
Lesson 2. Look sweet, and the humans will feed you.
Cicero: Yes, they are adorable.
Saphotographs: I love the babies, too!
Kingsdowner: I love those lessons! The babies are also so fat and fluttery and almost as big as the mother by the time I see them.
How nice to have babies, and it seems so early as in my more northern climes I think they are probably later.
Thanks for the welcome back; I had a great vacation and tho it was hard to do, I didn't even take my birding lens along with me.
Your title photo is GREAT!...such a variety of colour and design.
Awww, cute photos, I haven't seen a baby bird yet.
Yes, very exciting! Great shots..what a wonderful time of year - flowers, babies, even rain! It's raining here today - we were planning to go out, but will have to wait.
Me and My Camera: a vacation without your birding lens? My..you must really have needed rest :-) I have a post to go with the title photo, but wanted to post my baby downy first, because I was so excited to see it!
John and Birdlady: I loved the way it spread its little tail feathers out, but they mostly hid behind that limb and the suet cake, and I was having trouble getting photos. Hope they are back today.....I put out an extra suet cake for them!
And i'm glad you did post them Mary, lovely shots and the young looks so cute.
how cute :)
I think I have different babybirds here at Moseplassen, but I find it difficult to tell, and they always disappear before I can photo them..
Love the babies - and your clouds from before (I am definitely a cloud-lover)!
Haven't been able to blog surf - is that a new mast head?? I LOVE it.
No baby birds here in CT....yet. Hope does spring eternal, though.
Mary - I know Mental P visits your blog, but the above entry is actually from me - didn't realize she was still signed on when I posted it. OOOPS! If you want, erase the above, though I'm sure she would concur with what I wrote! ;-)
Those babies are so sweet. Great pictures!

Mike and JB: Thank you!
Annie: don't worry about it. Yes, that is a new mast head and I have a post to go with it, if the baby traffic slows down!
Moseplassen: would love to see some of your baby birds, which I know would be much different! Babies are hard for me to photograph and mom ususally doesn't bring them until they are almost on their own.
What a cute baby! These are great photos.
Oh, such fun to watch them!!!
