Saturday I posted part of the walk Mike and I took at the wetlands, so I guess I should finish it. We saw this mixed group of ducks on the farside of the lake.

I tried to get a better shot of one of them, but even with cropping it's pretty far away.

Back in the area where we saw the snake, I was also shooting the leaves hanging down over the water when my sharp-eyed husband once again spotted something......

....we think it was a muskrat....could see the tail......but it stayed in the shadows mostly and we could not get any clear close-ups or good shots to crop.

The boardwalk area looked pretty in the sun and this is one of the two areas where there are always lots of turtles sunning themselves......

.....we weren't disappointed. I liked this group all lined up with no place to go.

This one was a loner.

I believe that I count 11 in this shot and also in the next one.

When we headed back to the car, the Great Blue Heron had shown up, but didn't do anything more than stand at the edge of the lake.

Thanks, Mary, for the lovely walk.
Really like your turtle line-up on the log. Looking at the variety of wildlife you posted, it looks like a great area the spend some quality time with a camera.
Birdlady:Thanks!
Mike: It is a nice place, and some quality time with a quality photographer doing the photos would be even better :-) I didn't discover this place until fairly recently, and will be curious to see how much it "dries up" as the summer progresses.
I so enjoy looking at the areas you walk in, and it is gorgeous around there. Great shots in the last series of posts.
Sandy: Hello! You have a new ID picture! It's pretty much the same walk over and over, but its a nice place to go. I will have to branch out to some new locations.
Love the turtles - our pond has them as well, but they're so shy I've never been able to get a picture of them!
This looks like a great walk. What a picturesque place. You saw so many things, Mary!! I love the turtles lined up and the Heron.
