I'm pretty positive that this is an immature Brown Thrasher. It's eye looks blue instead of yellow and it has a "downy" and confused look about it like all the young birds seem to have.
It teetered and tottered on the suet trying to get a good position to eat.
It already has that "glare" even without a yellow eye!
Crying for mom, maybe?
Gobbling up the suet..........
......until Mr. Red-Bellied Woodpecker staked his claim!

A lovely series Mary. Juvinile birds can be so confusing especially when it comes to the raptors which mould up to 7 times before they get their full colors.
Saphotographs: Wow...I didn't know that about Raptors. I don't know a lot actually :-) I've had juvenile Thrashers before, but they were younger. The first thing I noticed with this one was the lack of yellow eye!
