What can I say? I'm indecisive and couldn't decide which pictures to post.
So, I'll just call this a tribute to the thistle.

Oh, I loved that! The first is my very favorite.
I think the thistles are especially nice this year. I just love the color. I even let some of them grow up that were in my flower garden to attract the butterflies.
I love thistle and these are beauties..
I'm sorry but I hate thistles, they will be the death of me, as I pull out a bucket full every week, and now they are in my lawn as well.....thank you to my next door neighbour for that.

Thanks everyone! I'm glad most of you love them. I always think they are so beautiful and enjoy watching them when they go to seed.
Gill: Oh, dear....guess its a good thing that I'm not your neighbor :-) Actually, I have exactly one thistle plant that grows by the garage each year. I can't figure out why all those seeds don't produce a whole garden of them for me. Most of these are at the wetlands and since it is wild space it is great for the butterflies and bees and such. If I had a gardenful, I might hate them, too.
We most certainly are on the same wave length! I was ready to post the very same photo (except I took it) and then decided not to...plus your thistle photos are better. DARN!
Some very lovely pictures here Mary. We do not have thistles here so it is always nice to see some even though it is a weed. LOL!!! Strange woman aren't I? LOL!! Don't answer that!! LOL!!

I'd have trouble picking which to post too, they are all so pretty. I love all the critters they attract too!
