Heading for Nashville Quilt Show.....

At 6:30 AM I will be heading to Nashville, TN for the big quilt show.....one of the best shows in this area. This is the last year it will be in Nashville. Next year they are moving it to Knoxville (Boo!). Will be staying the night and may not get any posting or visiting done until Friday.
Here are a few of my favorites from last year....some of you have seen them.... they all have a nature theme. I loved these woodpeckers! Deserved the ribbon it got!
Wonderful detailed butterflies! You can click on all of these to make them larger.

Bleeding hearts.....love the fabric choices on this!

They look so real and lovey dovey.
A lovely flying goose surrounded by "flying geese" blocks.

I bet this giant cat could keep my kitties in line! I think the block is "Puss in the Corner", if that helps you understand the imagery :-)

Poppies....I love poppies!

The entire border of this one was different animals....the rest is pretty, too!
Will share some of this year's quilts when I get home!

Very nice! I'm split on my likings of quilts. Some are downright gorgeous and true works of art - and some are, uhm. a bit kitschy?
Have fun!
Cheers, Klaus

I hope you have a good time! If it moves to Knoxville and you go there you will be about an hour from where I grew up!

Some beautiful ones Mary. I love the poppies and the woodpeckers. Enjoy yourself and bring back some nice pics for us. Are you showing one? How about a picture of it too?

I wish I had the patience for that intricate applique!

Sandy: I always have a dozen favorites :-)

Klaus: I agree completely. I see lots of quilts that I don't like at all, and lots that I just stand in awe with my mouth hanging open that someone could even do something like that! Everyone likes different things in the quilt world.

Eve: Well....I took several hundred photos :-)

Rose: Where did you grow up? I've been in that area, but probably will not go to the quilt show...too far unless making it part of a short vacation. There is a great Japanese quilt show in Athens, TN every fall that I've been to twice as part of a vacation.

Joan: LOL! I'm not even close to being good enough to make something for a big quilt show...or any quilt show other then the local level that takes anything you want to hang :-) We have 2-3 quilters here who have had quilts at the big shows, but I'm a beginner compared to them. I don't have the patience to be precise enough for one thing or the artistic vision.

Ann: Good for you! There are lots of wonderful patterns for baby quilts and I know you will come up with something wonderful.

Denise and Becky: It was a great show and I have lots of pictures.

Katney: I know...me too! I'm trying to learn applique, but I don't think I'll ever get good enough to make anything this lovely.

Oh my...these are absolutely stunning! And I LOVE that they all have a nature theme! I think that one with the woodpeckers would be my favorite. WOW! It amazes me the talent that would be required to make one of these. WOW! I am in awe!

Wow, these are just crazy good! I've always loved quilts, but never realized the artistic depths one could go to with them. I'm flabbergasted. Hope you are having a fantastic time at the show!
