That's a new way to say "left overs" are being served. I only took a couple photos today. I'm working hard on a quilt and didn't get out much.
This Kestrel was too far away and cropping in on it doesn't do it much good.

A Crow stopped by one day last week and I never posted it.
Mrs. C and a finch (?). This is my one true "squirrel-proof" feeder, by the way. I have seen the squirrel try to get to it a couple times and he never succeeds. It is a cheap plastic feeder from Ace Hardware! Maybe the plastic is the problem and he can't get a grip.

My Quince bush really wants to open up.....hope it waits until it is a little closer to spring. I see forsythia bushes bursting into bloom everywhere I go. It is still too early to not get a late freeze!

Oh my, you are ahead of us in spring...don't have anything near that close to blooming.
I really like your female cardinal photo and am glad you posted it. The detail is nice and crisp, the composition excellent. I rely on you for the bird photos that I don't take. Enjoy your weekend. It sounds like I'll have to take a look at your quilt blog. :-)

I love the quince blossoms. They have always been one of my favorite fruits. As a very small child we were visiting some people on a farm and they told me I could pick some. When it came time to leave and my parents opened the car door, out tumbled all these quinces as I had picked so many, the whole floor of the car was covered with them. I dont recollect if we were ever invited back there again. LOL!!
You are far ahead of us. I did see some buds on the Aspen trees today though, but like you say it's still too early.

Jenny: I think we are talking about a different quince. This is a flowering Japenese Quince bush....lovely flowers, but no fruit.
Anne: Oh, good! I recognize a few of the English ones now, too....blogging is great for widening our horizons.
Joan: LOL! Funny story! I think this is a different quince. As I say above...Japenese Quince...flowering bush...no fruit.
Becky: Seems like I always lose my Forsythia blossoms to a late frost and this quince is always the first thing to bloom. Surprised I don't have violets yet! Would be wonderful to not get a late freeze for a change.
The buds are gorgeous! I do believe you have a goldfinch with your cardinal in the 4th picture.
All those birds and then things are blooming too. Ain't it grand?
