Wet walk at the wetlands.....

Yesterday the term "wetlands" was very appropriate!

I wanted to get out so badly that I went hoping to see some snow.....most of which melted before I got there. I decided not to cross the boardwalk and add footprints to the snow (actually I was afraid I'd slip and fall in the lake)
About the time I got to the creek, it decided to snow again and I could hardly see the 2 Mallards that were huddled out in the middle of the creek on a rock.

Of course, my presence disturbed them and made me feel guilty.

Decided I was wasting my time and getting very little for my efforts.

I did like the way the distant boardwalk through the woods looked with the snow on it.

Spotted a log with fungi on it and decided to try out some macro with the new camera.

I'm sure the camera can do even better, but it's a start!

It was a very pretty log almost completely covered with these fungi and snow and little green lichen.

Made me think of pinecones.

A touch of green

Tried some leaves also.

.....moss.....

....curly grasses.....

....some sort of gall.

Again I avoided the boardwalks but it looked nice and the snow had sort of stopped.

The 4 "manky" ducks didn't like the snow either and were in their usual place.

Needed this one at home the day before, when I so "gracefully" fell flat on my face on the deck while trying to fill birdfeeders. Didn't even see the ice or expect it when I stepped out the door! That is why I avoided the boardwalks all day, and took a short walk. No use tempting fate twice.

Lots of home birds yesterday, too, but this is way too long already. Will save them for tomorrow.

Snow was gone by noon......back to just being wet.
