I haven't done a Ruby Tuesday for quite some time, but my week has been filled with "ruby" images to far, so I thought I would post a couple for this meme.
For the past couple of days, the Robins and Waxwings have been stripping my crab apple tree of its ruby fruit. My last two posts are full of more ruby images of these birds!

Very pretty shots of the birds you have captured some great photos here
P.S, i also noticed the bird on the side bar called red-bellied woodpecker, i know absolutely nothing about birds so forgive the stupid question, but why is he called that when i don't see a speck of red on his belly?
Lilli: That is a good question and the red on the belly is hard to see. I did a post last month that shows photos with the red belly showing. I think if you type red-bellied into the search area at the top left it will find that post. I'll see if I can find it. I just took some shots that show it yesterday but haven't posted them yet!
Lilli: It was in my Dec. 20 post and shows the red really well on the belly.
That's lovely with the bird amongst all the red berries. But my favourite (of course) is that red squirrel "Sunday's Star" having a wee rest on his belly, how adorable:)
Hi Mary,
Always good to catch up with you. I love the second picture of the robin in the berries - wonderful.
The young hawk below is awesome.
Have a great day!
Love the squirrel too, but the RT shots are terrific. I especally love the colors of the bird, berries, branches, and blue sky. Stunning!
These are great! I almost got out this morning to look for birds. I decided to stay home and clean. Don't know if that was a good choice. :-D
Very nice shots. There are also red berries in the photo so we got a two for one today! Great choice for RT. I've posted a red shirt, well sort of.
Happy RT Mary. You certainly do have lots of red berries on your Crab tree. No wonder you have so many birds. My tree doesn't have so much to offer.
It's horrible here right now. Heavy, heavy snow, windy, and predicted for tonight COLD temps!

ohh beautiful photos!! reminds me I haven't been doing my thrift store ruby tuesday...I need to go do that.
Wow, you did have a fanfasrtic haul! I'm lucky to get one at a time and that out of focus!
Mary---I've enjoyed your 'ruby' posts for the past few days. We had crab apples trees in our yard where I grew up in VA. I don't have one now--and haven't seen any nearby. Maybe that's why we don't have waxwings. Ya think???
Hugs,
Betsy
Cracking few posts Mary, berries and birds always make for good photos, nice waxwing shots too such beautiful birds, shame my light wasn't as good as yours, very jealous. Mike.
Pia K: Thank you! I love my squirrels, too.
Carletta: Thanks! They have just about stripped the tree, so I imagine they will go away soon.
Linnea: Thanks! It's been very colorful the last few days and the robins were as exciting as the waxwings...almost.
2sweetnsaxy: My house says I need to put the camera down for awhile and clean! I'm stiff putting away Christmas stuff.
Crazy Working Mom: It's been a red week for sure!
Becky: I had decided that nothing eats those berries until the robins showed up this weekend! I guess they have to get really soft and mushy. We were bitter cold this morning and some talk of snow, but it seems warmer again.
Sandy: Thanks! I like your thrift store finds!
Arija: Thanks...they posed pretty nicely.
Betsy: This is the first year I've seen waxwings in my crab apple trees. I hope they always come back!
Mike: thanks...I did have very nice light conditions mostly and they acted almost tame and didn't mind me being out in the yard.
More great photos.
cool shots=)
George and Donna: Thank you both!
Congrats on so many wonderful birds. Thanks for sharing
Glad they're finding food, tho I bet with the single digit weather you're having, those apples are frozen!
Lovely shots Mary. It is nice to see a spot of color.
How cute ! it's a long time I haven't seen any robin !
Stacey: Thanks!
Annie: It hasn't been that cold yet. They keep saying single digits, but so far I don't think it has been. Our weather is always weird in winter.
Joan: Thanks! YOu have lots of color right now, but we have little so it was a blessing for sure.
Gattina: I hadn't seen any either until Sunday.
Such a beautiful bird. I went out hoping to find a few birds. No luck. So, I get to revel in yours.
:-)
2sweetnsaxy: Thanks! I haven't been out for several days in this cold, but the birds are nice enough to stop by here if I feed them enough.
