Oh, my gosh.....I just found out it is Squirrel Appreciation Day (thank you, Mike for that important bit of news!) Star will be very mad that I didn't even say "Happy Squirrel Day"! No wonder I had 6 of them in the front yard and one out back all morning....they were looking for their appreciation and recognition!
Thank you, Star for being such a very good little squirrel and so cute!

I keep meaning to ask Mary, what type of Squirrel is Star please? He's such a lovely warm colour, not the same as the Grey Squirrels that we have here that were imported to Britain from America.
I think every day is squirrel appriciation day!
Jenny: My squirrels are Fox Squirrels. You can imagine how they got that name with their "foxy" orange tails and bellies. They do have a lovely warm color. I always wish I could run my hand over their fur! Have you ever seen Fishing Guy's Black Squirrels...those are beautiful, too! So many pretty kinds all over the world.
Mike: Well, certainly at this house anyway!
Where we live, we see them only in the woods ... not in our backyard.
Have a nice day !
Star is exceptionally beautiful! Great shot of her! I have a baby - well really a juvenile girl named Cracker. (She likes me to give her crackers and comes to my window everyday for them.) I'll have to post a photo soon.
Mamapippa: Mine are wherever the food is :-) They aren't going to eat out of my hand, but they know that birdfeeders contain food they want.
Shellmo: Love the name Cracker and how great to hand feed it! I have so many at the moment that I don't really know which one is Star any more!
Please don't tell my squirrel about that!
This guy is the Cutest! I wish you could send me some.

I'm sorry Mary... I can't get excited about squirrels... They are cute little guys and they pose for pictures really nicely. BUT......???????
Hugs,
Betsy
Thanks for telling us about Star's special day. I was unaware of Squirrel Appreciation Day before reading your post.
Cicero: I can't figure out why anyone would start a Squirrel Appreciation Day....do we send cards and nuts??
Becky: I have several to spare at the moment. Come pick up a few anytime you want.
Betsy: Well...they are just cute...I like cute :-)
George: Makes you wonder why someone started this day. I had never heard of it either.
Whatever day it is, that's a really good picture of your squirrel!! Thanks for posting!
Oh no!! How could you forget!! I am glad Mike is there to remind you of these things and I agree with him, everyday is squirrel appreciation day. I mean after all, what would I do without Star every Sunday? This world would be a sad, boring place. LOL!!
He is so cute. Squirrels don't look like they can eat a person out of house and home.

Pretty picture of Star that we can all appreciate Mary. A x
Dorothy: He managed to look cute and hungry at the same time.
Joan: I think he knows he's a star :-)
Leedra: I feel he should be appreciating me for feeding him so well and making him a "star" in my blog.
Anne: Good thing he is cute or I'd be chasing him away like the skunks and possums.
Must say there are more days than not when my squirrel appreciation is zero!
Wonderful picture of Star.
Mary: That is a wonderful capture of the squirrel.
Such a cute shot. :-) By the way, I really like your list of birds on the right. Wonderful!
:-)
Oh, my...my Dad would not approve! He's had a running feud for as long as I can remember with our squirrels.
I like the idea of giving nuts out to our furry friends though. :)
I saw this the other day, but didn't get a comment posted. That is a darling picture. Mama Squirrel has been coming to see me the past few days, except I wasn't home long enough today to see her. I think squirrels are so cute--you just can't help but love them.
