Ruby Tuesday.......

I haven't done any Ruby Tuesday lately and happen to take some Cardinal shots this week.
They weren't very good shots so I was playing with the cropping feature and decided the oval helped hide all the "busy" background of twigs causing blurs :-)

This was taken too close.....but I like it anyway.
I'm proud to have the Cardinal as our State Bird!

I think that he appreciates that Mike scrubbed the fountain this past weekend.

I believe the hummers are finally gone and if these bees insist on hanging around the feeder with it's ruby juice, it is coming down! There were 3 of them fighting over the opening.

I believe the one has his entire head inside!

One tree with red, so far! Our color is still far from peak and only few and far between.

Thanks Mary the Teach for hosting the Ruby Tuesday site!

We don't get cardinals here.

We've also had to take our fountain down for the winter already. The birds were sad but we replaced it with that heated gizmo and they seem to be drinking from it.

I love cardinals...I used to always wish that they were the Tennessee state bird...so, yeah, I like having it as our state bird too.

I think your cardinal photos are beautiful... the ones with the bees on the feeder are fascinating... tree is gorgeous. I think this is the prettiest Fall I can remember here in where I live... everything is just a blaze of color...

I enjoyed scrolling down the page too. I love those little stuffed squirrels. They just make me smile.

The oval frame is lovely for the Cardinal and it is such a beautiful bird!! Our provincial bird is the black-capped Chickadee. Lovely reds for Ruby Tuesday. Nice red tree. We have two huge red Maples along our driveway and they are now almost bare of leaves, leaving a red carpet covering our lawn!

Joan: I hope to take plenty once they turn!

Cicero: We are having temps in the 70's this week! I'll be able to leave this fountain out for a month yet. We took down the drip one in back because it kept running dry.

Rose: Yes, Cardinals are great...so cheery!

Raven: We've had such dry weather, I don't know if fall will be pretty or not. Certainly not our best.

Mike: Well, the red was just glaring at me, so I figure I might as well use it :-)

Ruth: Thanks! I think eventually Cardinals will be everywhere...they are so hearty and adaptable!

Portland: Thanks!

Ann: I bet that was beautiful! I assume you took photos :-) Chickadees are a great bird to have for a provincial bird. I've been trying to photograph mine all day today :-)

maybe move the feeder - that way you and the bees can both be happy :)

I love your photos especially the one you think is too close. it made the birds feathers look furry and wonderful

I LOVE your cats - Mouse reminds me of my Mia

Gayle and Dianne: Thanks for stopping by! I'll be taking down the hummingbird feeder now that I've gone several days without seeing any. I'll give Mouse to the first person that will give her a good home and put up with her meanness. My other cats hate her....I think that warped her personality!

Great, great!!! Your cardinal is a beauty and I love the oval frame, clever to use it to take out unwanted background. All your other photos are lovely too, the bee ones are fascinating. Thanks Mary, I have really enjoyed these, and all your other photos below them.
