That's right.....the cemetery! For some reason the local cemeteries have some of the best color plus they don't have electrical wires or houses in the way :-) Our local paper says that we are still a week away from fall color here, so I may as well post these before the "good stuff" arrives :-)
We are far from peak yet, but I did find a few nice trees with color!

(I'm behind again, so I figured I might as well post these while I wait for better color to come along.)

Your colours are very beautiful, especially the big orange one in the cemetery. I think its in the seasonal changes where I notice the timing being different from each other in our areas. Our spring was a few weeks later than yours, our fall colours were earlier. Our colours have deepened now and we are seeing a lot of yellows, dark oranges and browns. The peak of our season has passed and we are now into a mellow richness in colours that have darkened. Some trees now have shed all of their leaves and their branches are stark and bare. The Tamaracks now have yellow needles. We shall probably have snow first too :-(
Happy Squirrel Sunday!

Ann: I agree about the seasons! I know you will have snow first! We actually seldom get a lot, but occasionally we have one big storm. The snow usually stops closer to Indianapolis and we miss out on all but a few inches....rather than feet! With everyone else posting fall color, it seemed like ours wasn't coming, but really it is right on time according to the newspaper....I'm just impatient! I have to remember that I'm further south.
Wow!! They are beautiful Mary. We never have such color here in the fall. Things seem to go from green to brown with only a few trees getting nice colors.
Certainly beautiful colors to me! I love the photo at the top of your blog too!
Wow, you are behind us. Good for you. You still have lots ofgreen left too. The colors you do have are beautiful. I like that orange tree. I agree about the cemeterys. There always seem to be plenty of Maple trees, and they are the ones that are so gorgeous. There is always lots of nice shrubs too.
If it's not peak season,it sure does look pretty.Fall is such a lovely time of year.
This is already pretty good stuff Mary.
Hi Mary
My fav is also the lovely golden tree in the cemetary. Is your new header photo somewhere close to you? It looks lovely there.
Beautiful Mary. It's funny you posted this...I went by a local cemetary yesterday and had an urge to stop in!! Hummmm!!! Ha Ha! Are you telepathic???
Very lovely.
This particular cemetery is an old one and has lots of nice trees. The sun was "in and out" so some of the colors aren't as vibrant looking as they should be....will go back when more have turned. I'm not good at trying to brighten the photos up, so I usually don't try.
Jenny: The header photo is at the Blue Grass area north of town and is about a 30 minute drive for me. I'm so glad they opened this lovely reclaimed strip mining area up! I'm a little leery about going there by myself, because some areas are open to hunting at certain times. So far I've only gone on weekends when Mike is with me.
Eve: Sure....I can read your mind very clearly....better watch what you're thinking!
Lovely Fall photos Mary, and your squirrel ones are great too. Looking forward to catching up on others you have posted.
