We got snow......

Nothing like the north and east, but we did get a bit of snow. When I got up there wasn't too much, but later it started up again and was blowing real badly and cold. A very distant shot from the middle of the room, but I wanted to show how many cardinals were out there and didn't want to scare everyone away.
3 cold birds...Cardinal, House Sparrow, Downy

Cold Cardinal in the bush waiting a turn

Again....the many cards and the squirrels. Big glob of snow on the window doesn't help the photos :-)
This poor Downy just hung there not even eating when I took this photo. I was worried she was caught and went out to check, but she flew away. Just cold and tired.
The squirrel with the short tail......nothing to hang over his head to keep the snow off :-) The snow was blowing the worst at this time.

A warm fur coat is nice when it snows.

Mouse thought she would test her warm fur coat.....but didn't last more then 2 minutes. I guess the toes weren't warm enough :-)

Ozma had enough sense to watch the Starlings from inside. Although I would not have minded her chasing a few away! There were so many that I gave up on taking bird photos for the day. I have some photos from Wednesday when we didn't have snow that I will post tomorrow unless something exciting happens. Good thing I just bought 2 bags of sunflower seed on sale Sunday! They may not last long!

Poor creatures - I do feel sorry for them in the winter. We are getting record low temperatures here this winter - last night -17 degrees and apparently only 2 degrees warmer than the South Pole.

Great photos Mary - your lovely visitors are lucky you are so generous.

Starlings make me laugh but I know what you mean, the food just disappears! A x

The distant shot from the middle of the room and the cardinal in the bush are especially spectacular!

The birds do look cold.Winter sure is hard for them, thankfully there are many people who put out feed.
Hope you are enjoying the warmth of your house during this time.

We've gotten many birds at our feeders as well. Fortunately we got an extra bag of sunflower seed when we went shopping earlier in the week. It looks as if we got about the same amount of snow that you got.

I can tell your critters aren't impresed with this cold weather at all. Poor dears. Maybe Mouse needs fur boots.

Looks like the cardinals have their own "guys club!" Good thing the critters have you for their caretaker. =)

Beautiful pictures, Mary... Your birdies are enjoying their food... It's extra-special for them on a snowy day... I'll post some more of my birdies tomorrow.
Hugs,
Betsy
