It's rained every day since we went to Blue Grass, so I'll use the last few photos from there and hope we get some sunshine soon
One of the gulls standing on the ice and a couple of Teal swimming around. I've never seen Teal there before.....or anywhere else....so this was a nice surprise.
I wish the photos were a bit closer, but was glad to get any.
I keep trying to get swooping birds :-)

When I took this I couldn't tell what kind of waterfowl these were. They were way down about the middle of the largest of the lakes. After cropping the photos, I would say they are Canada Geese who found a small patch of unfrozen water. There are farm fields along one side of the Blue Grass property and sometimes a lot of Canada Geese spend the night in the field.

Great shots. Love the gull on the edge of the ice, showing his reflexion in the water.
Isn't it fun to see a bird for the very first time?

I think you did a pretty good job of getting pictures of the gull in flight. Of course, the pictures of the birds on the ice are wonderful as well.

You still got great shots Mary. You always manage to locate new ducks or geese too. I've never seen Teal either.

A gentle, reflective, peaceful winter's day with water birds just hanging out makes for a nice relaxing change of pace. Your captions fit the images perfectly as always. The swooping and walking/flying gulls are tops!
