I'm double posting today because I'm getting behind.
These aren't outstanding photos that I took back on Jan. 4 of the Brown Creeper, but I so seldom see one that I did want to post them! 
This bird only seems to show up at my house on one day each year.....maybe it's an anniversary for it! LOL!
It blends in so well with the tree trunk, that when it does come I am lucky I even see it. Here it was sitting on the ground for a moment so I got a bit of the white front. I'd love to study this bird more closely.
Here it is sneaking up the right side of the tree while the Downy is eating. I just put a new block of suet in this feeder so maybe he will come back.
Blending in with the bark.

Blending in with the bark. Sibley shows it in a class by itself....genus Certhia....but mixed in with the Chickadees and Titmice and Nuthatches that it apparently hangs around with.
Some day I hope to have much better photos of this one.

I have been trying for 3 years to get a good picture of our standard Hoopoe it is really an unusual Bird some day I will get it right just like you :)
You did wonderful with the Creeper Mary! Much better than any photo I've gotten so far! Great work!
Philip: The Hoopoe is a very neat bird...I've seen it in a few blogs. I hope you get some good photos eventually! Some birds just like to make it very difficult for us :-)
Eve: I seem to remember you having a pretty good Creeper photo. I don't dare go outside when he is on that tree, so I have to shoot from inside through the windows...just not close enough.
It does blend in well with the tree trunk, not so pretty as the chickadee and titmouse maybe, but he still turns up to see you each year.
I think you did a good job of getting a picture of this bird. He is so well camouflaged that it takes a great eye to see him.
At least, unlike me, you got a photo of the front of the head Mary! (-: I hope he comes around for you more often. They're such lovely quiet birds.
Hi Mary, The Brown Creeper just fades into the trees around him, doesn't he??? Don't think I've ever seen one of these in person.
