Cornell link comparing Sharp-Shins and Cooper's juveniles....

http://www.birds.cornell.edu/pfw/AboutBirdsandFeeding/accipiterphoto.htm

I sent my photos to the Cornell site to tell me what kind of hawk and they think Cooper's. I'm including a link that they sent me that shows lots of excellent photos comparing the two for any of you that want to study the differences.

It sure is hard to tell some of these birds apart. Maybe I'll visit that site to see what kind I shot the other day.

I know some of our raptors moult 7 times before the gain their proper colors and those in-between stages are very difficult for identification.
