Titmouse and Chickadee-dee-dee.....

Titmice and Chickadees are not only two of the cutest birds, but two of the busiest birds! They flit in and out constantly making photos difficult most of the time. Then they sit and peck patiently on each seed with their heads down......usually with their backs turned to me. sigh. A rare post....holding still for the photographer.
"Happy, happy!"
That is how the Titmouse always seems to me.....smiling and thrilled with the latest seed he has triumphantly plucked from the feeder.

I liked this shot in the afternoon sunlight on the rail

Just resting for a few minutes.

"I got another one! Yeah!"
These wire feeders are perfect for these little birds. They can zip in and grab a seed and zip away.
Even when the seed level gets low, they can manage to snag their prize.
In a bit of a flutter while landing.
Incoming!
I get quite a few of these "launch shots" just as I am ready to click on the sitting bird.

The Chickadee is equally cute, but I find it harder to catch photos of. This particular day it was taking turns with the Titmouse at these feeders.
The light was failing, but I like their little round shape and sectioned head.
Ouch.....my neck isn't quite that flexible.

Hanging low
Defying gravity....... "Look ma....who needs hands!"
Pick a seed....any seed.
Sometimes I enjoy these bad shots......this one really let me see his lift off motion!

These are great Mary. I love that you put your action shots in there! Perfect!

Dorothy: They are 2 of my favorites but they are so fast, I don't always get a lot of good photos.

Eve: The action shots are sometimes the most fun even though they are usually accidents and not focused properly.
