We spotted this little duck family in a ditch near a car dealership. Just what I needed for Watery Wednesday!
They were paddling around in the ditch until they saw me.
For some reason they decided to trek to the bigger pond. So cute watching the little ones try to keep up!
The same pond had a pair of geese with just one offspring.....a "teenager", but still cute.

Swimming along behind mom.We decided to head to Henderson for our weekly check on the eagles nest. Click on any photo to see full size, but I've cropped as close as I can without losing all clarity.
Not long after we arrived the male showed up with food....I think this is a photo of whatever he brought with him. I'm not sure I want to know what it is.
After the male soared off, the female spent the rest of the time feeding the chick who is easier to see now. I kept trying to tell if there was more than one. Once in a while I think I see two but have no photos that can back that up for sure. I guess time will tell.

The duck will make use of any pool of water which is available to them :)
If your Bald Eagle is anything like its cousin the Fish Eagle, they will have just one chick. Usually they lay 2 eggs and if both hatch, the weaker one will die unfortunately. :(
...gosh...I would love to be able to go and check out an eagle's nest. I can see that little one popping up...very nice. I've yet to see an eagle this year.

Love your litte ducks Mary. I think the Mallard ducklings have hatched on the creek too. I saw them a few days ago, but I couldn't get a good picture.
In one of your Eagle shots it does look like 2 babies. Keep us posted.
I've been watching an Eagles nest in California on the Eagle Cam, and they are really getting bigger. They now have dark feathers, but are still babies.

Well I'm so very far behind on my comments Mary! Great posts I've missed. I love the honeysuckle below, it's one of my favorites. The flowers are all beautiful. The eagle shot is just great too!

Haven't seen any baby ducks at our local lake yet, however, judging by the mating activity we saw when we were there Monday evening, some might be on the way !!

Loved all your photos. Great blog. I especially liked the Tiny turtles, tiny frogs. The fungi photos were interesting also. Everytime I see a fungus of any sort I take a picture of it, I have quite a few. Thanks for sharing your wonderful photos.
Oh, I love to watch the little ducklings follow their mama in the water. It never looks like they're moving, almost like they are attached by a string. So glad you're following up with the Eagles. It's really neat to see the little one popping it's head up. They grow so fast.

Thank you everyone! I really do appreciate your comments and feel somehow like I am not showing my appreciation when I don't write responses. I'm having some trouble with my shoulder and all the typing right now is bothering me. I do a couple hours of paid typing work a day, also. I will try to respond to any questions you ask me, but otherwise, I'll save my typing arm for when I visit your blogs :-)
Well worth the trip to check out the eagle nest. They do usually have 2, so maybe you will get to see 2 later.
