Good grief.....

...why is it the least desirable birds produce the most successful nests and the most babies???? Anyone in England looking for a few House Sparrows????? I'd offer free shipping, but I can't afford it. I'd almost be willing to throw in the Indigo Bunting just to be rid of the sparrows!

We'll take the Indigo Bunting, but you can keep the sparrows.

I'd almost be willing to trade you the sparrows for some Brown Headed Cowbirds.. Of course I do want the Indigo Bunting too. None here yet. I did have one Bluebird here today, YEA, and will post the pictures on Thursday.

...yes, but just look how beautiful they make the Indigo Bunting stand out!! He is gorgeous. You're so lucky he's visiting your yard. I have to go to the woods to find one.

I say: the more the merrier! I'm so glad to see the birds back after a cold, snowy winter. But the hummingbirds are my favourite. I must have 4 feeders up for each critter: finches, chickadees & blue jays, hummingbirds and squirrels.

We see very few sparrows these days - no wonder they are raising lots of young where they can. A x

Our indigo only hung around for 2 days. Better than nuthin'. I'll gladly send you more sparrows if you ever run low!

Oh Mary, I'm so sorry... They are the ones that killed your baby blues, aren't they????? MEAN Birds...

You need some hawks around to get rid of them... They remind me of all of the Pine Siskins we used to have. At least though, the Siskins were not mean..

So sorry... Wish I had an answer for you.

Hugs,
Betsy

I don't know anyone in America that likes House Sparrows. They just do too well at the expense of other birds. You can see that I have dozens of "baby" house sparrows already and they are probably not done for the year.

Betsy: You have me mixed up with someone else. I have not had any baby blues. There are several other Marys :-)
