The heron chicks are getting active

Another nest of young we spotted this time near the middle bottom of this photo. It was a rainy day so light conditions were poor for that distance.

The geese are getting their "chin straps" already.

...but a few are younger.

Now, here's something REALLY worth watching! French Open is on for the next two weeks, so I'm glued to the set alot right now.

It's so nice to see everyone doing well Mary!!!
My goodness Mary, they have really sprouted out!! Before you know it they will be trying to fly. :)
Looks like all the babies are about to fly away. Great photos!
Mary: Our young herons and goslings are also growing up fast. Those were neat shots.
...ahhh! The baby herons are so cute in the nest. I love watching them grow up. Have fun watching tennis!
Those nests are just amazing. Wish they'd build on OUR pond.
Great to see the Heron chicks coming on. Thanks for helping us watch their progress! Enjoy the tennis. Do you watch Wimbledon too?
(-:
I'm looking forward to seeing them all try to fly :-)
Annie: I think the heron like to be away from people. These are out in the middle of a marsh area high up in cypress trees. 200 yards from people.
Jenny: Yes, I watch all the big matches if I can. It's the only sport that I ever watch on TV :-)
Great shots. I was at the only place I know that has heron nests but I saw no activity. :-( It's so cool to see the little ones in yours shots.
I used to be so into tennis. Don't know what happened but I don't watch it much any more. :-(
Nice shots Mary, like the two young geese in formation. Mike ;)
Hi Mary, So you like tennis??? Who do you want to win???? I used to watch sports on TV much more than I do now. I loved Breakfast at Wimbledon.
Great pictures of your birdies---especially those babies.
Hugs,
Betsy
Great pictures of the herons and goslings, Mary. I hope you'll be able to get away from tennis enough to keep track of them.
I can't believe those blue heron babies are that big! They must grow so fast.
I almost wish I was into tennis till I would have something to look forward to...but I am not and I guess that is just the way I am made. But have fun watching it!
Wow, those Herons are getting so big. They're almost outgrowing the nest.
The baby geese always make for great pictures.
Have fun watching tennis.
B.
I'm always amazed at that Heron rookery.Would love to see one in person.
Blessings,Ruth
All great shots. The one with the 'chin strap' comment looks like the parent is giving last-minute instructions. :-)
Children grow up so quicklt, no matter whose.
I always thought those two guys were nice fellers...looking at them here, I'd hate to come across either in a dark alley!
The birds do grow fast, I bought some chickens a while back and they're already huge.
Hey Mary, Mary here...just wanted to drop you a note and let you know how much I enjoy your blog. Your photos are great.
