We get so enthralled with watching these tiny little flying creatures and thinking of them as.....
perfect in every way......
....poetry in motion
.......heavenly little creatures.
However.....when they sit, they can become quite comical.....stretching up their necks in funny positions......
.....scratching and digging with their toes......
......and then cleaning off the toes afterwards with their bills.
(I have no idea what I did to create the black background on the first few pictures, but it sure made their little feathers stand out and looks great for a desktop wallpaper.)

These are great closeups and in the first photo that hummingbird really has its beak way in the feeder. Hope you're feeling better today.

Ann: I noticed that about the beak being way in and immediately filled it after taking the picture :-) I feel a bit better but still woke up coughing during the night a lot. It gets better each day.
