Way back in Is it gold....or is it pink?? I posted a poem by Grace Crowell that I like called "Color". It begins:
"Have you noticed, have you seen, that God loves green?"
Well, today at the wetlands, I saw plenty of evidence of the many shades of green in everything I looked at.
Probably yellow not green, but in the light these butterflies definitely looked green.
The turtles were out for a change and all covered with heavy coats of green swamp vegetation.
The swamp itself is very green now with more green sticking up in all directions.
Green seed pods
Greenish prickly flowers
Green dragonfly female waiting to lay her eggs in the green water , having just mated.
I also saw lots of new flowers and some new bugs and butterflies, so I will leave them for tomorrow........I'm not getting out much, so I need all the pictures I can get :-)

Glorious green - loved it.
I myself have often been amazed at how many shades of green there are Mary, and your pictures show this off pretty well. In nature, no two shades are the same!! Tryly wonderful!!
Jenny: Welcome, glad you came by! Green is my favorite color! Glad to know there are others out there that also love green :-) I should show a picture of all the green fabrics in my "stash" sometime...I can't pass up a green without buying at least a fat quarter :-)
Island Rambles: Thanks you! I guess green is the basis of all nature....I always think of it as a "neutral" color that everything else goes with, like bouquets of flowers scattered around in the grass.

Green is my very favorite color. It seems to embrace all of life.

A colour theme is such a good idea and you have captured it just right. You're right about the abundance of green and I am hoping these recent heavy rains will turn the brown grass on my lawn green! Colour winter white, colour spring brown, clour autumn in an abundance of colours, but colour my summer green!

That is such unusual colours on the Dragonfly.
We have a similar green Butterfly called "Brimstone" and the female is green like that. Great images.
Joan: Green really is such a useful color and makes a lovely background for everything else.
Annie:I guess nature-lovers have to love green :-)
Ann: I would love to do photos for the rest of that poem sometime but always seem to get stuck on the green :-) We need rain, too and got a few sprinkles yesterday. We still have green grass, but need some rain for everything else. I hate summer drought.
Roy: I think it is one of the prettiest female dragons that I've seen....the Eastern Pondhawk. I have a picture of them in a wheel right before this, and then she flew over the sea of green and started dotting it with her eggs. I liked that little greenish butterfly but didn't know what it was....it looked more yellow when flying (a sulfur maybe?) I really should care more about names of things!
