Mary, I always have to laugh about the Backyard Bird Count. I tried counting the birds at our feeders yesterday while we ate lunch and there are so many coming and going that it is impossible to keeep count of them!! Do you count the same ones that come back 50 times a day??? I hope other people are able to do a better job of this than me. Have a Happy Tuesday!
I admire people who do this.. I could never do it --since I'm not sure how many of mine are the same ones over and over or whether they are all different ones... I just couldn't even begin to try to do this count... I'll leave that up to people who 'want' to do it...

Dorothy: I count the largest number of each bird that I see at any one moment....if there are 7 cardinals in my view at once that is what I count. The hard part for me is that I have two feeding areas....front and back yards.
