(SkyWatch Friday post is below this one)
Mike was working in the yard yesterday and saw a family of geese approach the lake from the neighbor's yard. He came and got me and the camera.
I got there in time to see them set sail for the other side of the lake...a lovely family of 3 little ones.
On the other side there is a wall of railroad ties and rocks, so the parents very patiently swam and walked along with the little ones towards the end by the woods.
Father and son :-)
A few yards from the end the parents both got out and walked along on top in the yard with the babies down below.
"How are we suppose to get up there???"

Lovely story Mary.
How cute Mary. I guess there are going to be plenty of baby animals and birds around for this next month or so.
I went kayaking for the first time the other day and saw a pair of geese. Around here though, I don't think they've even laid they're eggs yet.
Lovely family pics. and it seems so early for babies! Love the commentary. you are a great mind reader!

Oh, this is a great series of photos! I have not seen a family to get pics of...the pics and your captions are really good...
So cute, maybe you can get them again as they grow. Sure they will change so fast.

Thanks everyone! This goose family may not come back, but we have a Mallard duck pair hanging around that I hope will nest. They both keep coming to eat at my house, so surely she doesn't have a nest anywhere yet.
They are sooo adorable!
I LOVE baby geese. Never can see enough of them. Such a good story too.

Rose, Becky, and Betsy: I agree that they are so adorable. I wish they would stay but geese move their babies around constantly.
Mary: Your geese have goslings, I can hardly wait.
Great post, I'm enjoying all your recent posts but these babies are adorable!
