More home birds...

A few more home shots The Chickadee.....one of my favorites that I haven't seen too much of over the summer.
"I have a seed!"

Looking coyly at the camera
Hummer.....not great

She was reflecting the red of the feeder a bit. I'm trying to get a good shot of the male that is coming to my feeder. I don't see him as much.

Goldfinch really working hard to get a seed out.

"Would you stop watching me! You make me nervous."

House Finch female

This wasn't at home....I stopped by the park and this dove was sitting on the rusty soccer goals.

Hopey.....after getting a drink from the fountain. She loves to lick the water off as it runs down the sides of the ball. Doesn't matter how many water dishes I give her....she likes the fountain!

Her sister, Ozma giving me her best "I-am-the-queen" stare......
"Open the door...I want to go in now."

I have always loved chickadees, ever since I can remember. Unfortunately there are none in Australia so your shots are a doubly welcome sight.
Great captures of all the birds as well as your two puddy tats.

I like the Chickadee and the cat pictures, Mary! Does the cat ever try to catch the birds?

i haven't had a chickadee to come to my feeder yet but i do get visits from goldfinches and mourning doves. i've never seen the doves eat the seeds from the feeder though, only the ground. i have one hummingbird that visits every summer but it only stays for a few seconds. i don't have any feeder for them, sadly. and lastly, your cats are adorable. hope all is well.

I think your pictures of the hummingbirds are quite good.
We haven't seen too many chickadees this summer either. They are a fun bird to watch.

Thank you everyone for the nice comments...I'm still watching lots of tennis, but its making me pay more attention to my home birds for a change in between matches:-)

Betsy: Yes, Federer is one of the best tennis players ever. He is getting older and slower, but he still has a lot of style!

Rose: I shouldn't admit that Hopey is my favorite cat, but she is. She is rather thin now, and it worries me. They are 15 years old.

More good shots. I love your cats expression! My Maggie is 21 years old this summer, and I had to give her a partial hair cut. She got burrs in the fur on her back.
