I figure if I keep going back and forth between my wetland photos and my home photos, maybe you won't notice how similar they tend to be each time I go. I went back to the wetlands today, but it was the same ducks, same butterflies, and same sandpipers...but I took photos anyway :-)
So instead I will give you more of my home birds.
Had a special visitor last night! I was lucky to get a shot...I had the computer in my lap on a heavy board, and couldn't get up, but yelled for Mike to get the camera for me (what would we do without helpful husbands??) Shooting through the glass of our sliding doors is never very good, but at least I got several shots after ditching the computer.
I'm guessing a female Redstart!
It looks a lot more "yellow" than the books show.....
....but the tail sure looks like Redstart! She flared it at me a couple times....this is very late afternoon as you can see from the low light hitting her. I was surprised that the camera even focused on her. I'm excited....a warbler! A don't see many at my house. What can I offer a warbler to eat...anything? I refuse to catch bugs for her...she will have to catch her own.
Same late afternoon light on the crabapple tree and a chickadee....but a lot higher in the air.
I was real sorry to see Sam Querry get beat in that really long 5 set match yesterday...what a battle. The last American man in the US Open. Oh, well....now I can root for Roger Federer without feeling guilty :-)

Well you certainly know how to make me smile with your commentary Mary Your "Redstar" looks similar to our "Bush Robin" just for interest sake :)
Husbands are always helpful Mary.{:)
Lovely lot of bird images.
Go Roger.!!!
Philip: You will have to post a photo of a Bush Robin. I looked on Google, but didn't find much.
Roy: Yes, they are :-) Wouldn't know what to do without mine.
HI Mary...Your watering hole photos are alway so funny!!!
Those sparrows in the bottom of the bath are just a riot they really have great expressions!!
Good Morning, Mary! Pretty birds and new ones to me!
That is definitely a Redstart.I like how the birds get so innovative when it comes to drinking. The sparrows are having a blast, good for them.
Blessings,Ruth
I do love the look of your water fountain Mary, and I never get tired of looking at all your bird photos, really super.

I love that redstart's tail...I don't think I have ever seen one. At least I not that I know of...need to look it up and find out more.
Cute birdie pictures.... I hope that is a Female Redstart... What a gorgeous little bird...
And --as much as I don't care for the sparrows, those are so cute as they splash around in the bath.
Enjoy your tennis... Too bad all of the American men are now gone... We need some good men to come forward and dominate like they used to...
Hugs,
Betsy
Thanks for putting in a good word about husbands! I really like the pictures (and video) of the sparrows enjoying your 'swimming pool'.
What luck Mary!! I love the way its tail fans out like that.
Thank you everyone! Only 4 more days of tennis and then maybe I will concentrate more on my blog and everyone else's blogs as well :-) At least my favorite sport only dominates for two weeks at a time and mainly only 4 times a year!
