SkyWatch Friday.....

Today is SkyWatch Friday.....time to look at skies all over the world.

My sky has been blue all week and warm springlike weather. For more SkyWatch click on the icon on the sidebar. Thanks Skywatch team for all the work you put into this! A bird in the ash tree enjoying the nice weather (and waiting for me to go away from the food on the driveway)
I was trying to pose my new quilt top....not finished yet....with the lilac bush that inspired it, with poor results, so I finally cut a few blooms to lay on it and then took them inside to enjoy for a day. They don't last long in water so I hate to cut them.

The Sulphur butterfly was enjoying the lilacs, too.

The little Chipping Sparrow likes to come in the late afternoon right before sunset and look for seeds on the drive. It never seems very afraid of me.

They are pretty little birds.

Earlier in the day we stopped by Hartman Arboretum to see if any flowers were growing yet to attract butterflies. They have really pruned and cut back and cleaned everything up, so it might be a couple months before there is much to see.

Mr. Hartman was there and stopped to talk with us. He showed us some new bushes (that I wish I had written down the names of). This one was very pretty and I would love to have one. All I remember is it is a hybrid cross between two other bushes.

Isn't the flower gorgeous and such an unusual color?

I liked these bell-like flowers also.

This was called Pearlbush and he said that the buds look like pearls before the open.

Mike was checking out the Blueberry flowers....which I have never seen before....because he just planted 3 Blueberry bushes in our side yard. We may die before they ever get big enough for blueberries! I wish ours were this big. Patience!

A dandelion puffer :-)

We drove out to New Harmony for lunch, but I didn't take many photos. I liked this Cottonwood(?) and guess it fits for SkyWatch.

Tulips in someones yard....a little past their prime, but catching the sunlight and looking very colorful and cheerful.

Hopey was helping me watch birds in the late afternoon. For some reason not many came around while she was helping me.

Her sister Ozma looking very funny....sort of like a child crossing their eyes and sticking out their tongue :-)
