Gee....I'm desperate for something to post already! We have had 2 out of the 3 cars in our family break since we came home, plus Mike spending 3 days trying to get the tractor running. No time for birding at the moment.
So.....you get a few more vacation photos :-)
We went to the Lane Auto Museum in Nashville, TN which has the oddest collection of cars and vehicles that I've ever seen. Mike and I both took about 300 photos each, so he will eventually be putting many of them in his blog. They don't quite fit my nature theme.....plus he knows why they are odd or unusual or rare.
One shot looking out over some of the cars.
I know there are a couple of cycle riders among my readers, so I will give this overview of the cycles. The odd ones are mostly at the other end. I have lots of individual shots as well.
Back in Tucson......The bunny eating the watermelon

...the bunny eating the watermelon is adorable. I've never seen that before! Also, loved the finches song and dance routine. One is doing the same outside our window right now....in the rain!!!
I have to agree with Kelly.... that bunny is just too cute and I have never seen one eating watermelon either. It has good taste. :)
Mary...watermelons do not eat bunnies. but the bunny eating the watermelon is a nice shot.
Its a bronze turkey, I think.
is mike going to put some of the cars on his Blog, after he has got his own mechanical things running?
Kelly: I think everyone has a bird that they have too many of at their feeders and in Tucson it was the House Finch at my sister's house. They were aggressive and tired to discourage other birds from this source of food they had found. They chattered counstantly and annoyingly at times.
Joan: My sister wanted to throw away the watermelon and I suggested putting it out to see if any bird would eat it. A Gila woodpecker tried some, but I forgot to post those photos. The bunnies thought it was rather tasty :-)
Tony: Mike put his first post last night in his blog and I did one of a piece of auto art in my other blog.
Tony: I fixed my poor grammar about the bunny and the watermelon :-)
I've been missing in action for a bit so it's nice to catch up with your blog again! I love those Quails you've got over there, very characterful! I don't think that female House Finch was much impressed! Poor chap! (-:
I have always wanted to go to the Lane Museum. Did you see the car with the propeller. I saw it on the TV show My Classic Car.
An Arkies Musings
Jenny: Glad to have you back! I like the quails too and took some videos of them moving around. A lot like a flock of chickens. My sister calls them "prairie chickens". I didn't think the female finch seemed much impressed either :-) I think he was trying too hard!
Richies: Yes, we saw it (them) and I have photos. There were so many odd cars at this place! Terrific place for a visit!
Sorry to hear about all your vehicle problems, but I'll gladly view your vacation photos any time. The bunny eating the watermelon is a great capture.
Wonderful photos.
Great post and blog Mary.
Regards.
Thanks for the link to the Motor Museum, very interesting Mary.
Mary: Love the quail photo.
I would love to see one of those quail in real life...love the song and dance routine, too!
Rose: The quail are so funny. They scurry around so fast and graze like chickens. My sister has a low wall around her back yard and they go up and over it in one leap and disappear until the next visit. I'd love to see the chicks, but am never there at the right time.
These are all great Mary...LOVE the bunny and the video is PRICELESS!!!!!!
