Left-Overs.....

These photos are left over from last week's visit to the arboretum. I've got a lot of things keeping me busy this week and the weekend will be even worse. Our local quilt show is Saturday and Sunday and the Kuntsfest is also going on in New Harmony those days. Between working at the quilt show and trying to get out to the Kuntsfest, I will probably not even look at the computer starting Friday! Just not enough hours and my knee is bothering me right now for walking anyway. I don't even have captons for these photos, but they don't need any, I guess.

Becky at Woodynook posted one of these caterpillars last week and identified it as a Milkweed Tiger Moth larva. I would not have know that, but agree with her that it looks like a bunch of yarn. Her photo was better than mine...go look :-)
Unless I get out tomorrow or Thursday and take some photos, this might be it for the rest of the week. See you whenever I get caught up again.

I will take these left-over any day Mary. A wonderful selection.

...you definitely have some lovely left-overs here! I wonder what type of butterfly that fuzzy caterpillar will become? I need to look him up. Since "kunst" means "art" in German, I assume Kunstfest is an arts festival. Is there a heavy German influence in your area? We have one here in "Zinzinnati!"

Joan: Thanks!

Kelly: I went back and IDed the caterpillar. Becky had posted one last week and says it is a Milkweed Tiger Moth Larva. New Harmony does lots of "art" type shows. This one is a lot about pioneer crafts and other crafts. They will have vendors selling stuff and I hope to pick up a few Christmas gifts. Yes, all of southern Indiana has a strong German heritage

Eve: It was a great day for skippers.

Speaking of art festivals and butterflies, Mary, in my latest blog post I linked back to one of your posts where you're talking about seeing Monarchs flying around. Hope your weekend goes well!

CountryDreaming: It is too bad that the butterflies didn't cooperate up at Kelley's Island for their tagging event. Butterflies don't behave very well :-)
