Finishing that wetlands walk....

These were more things from yesterday's walk.....Painted Lady posing on the Thistle
Pokeberry

A very unhappy looking wet Mockingbird :-) His head looks so funny!

This one looks a little better :-)

These flowers hanging out over the creek were attracting the Monarchs....2 can be seen here.

Some wet pods I liked.

A dragonfly wanted to pose for me....not sure what kind.
Looking at me!

The morning glories were very wet looking and getting tattered.

Blackbirds in silhouette here and below. They were gathering in the trees back along the creek.

I liked this little stump out in the water with the hole in it and the little fungi near the bottom.
Tomorrow I will get started on butterflies and flowers I've accumulated.

Great pictures from the wetlands, Mary. That mockingbird looks almost like the little Bluebird looked like in one of my recent pictures... ha

I love that one picture of the dragonfly --who is looking at you.. Great shot.

Have a great day.

Betsy

The mockingbird does seem a bit down and his head looks really funny from all the wetness. your dragonfly is really nice looking. and the pond with tree trunk sticking out is great. hope all is well. have a great day.

I really like your picture of the stump, but I think your first picture of the butterfly is my favorite. But all of them are good.

Grammie G: I something think a swamp monster might stick its head up out of that swampy area :-)

Betsy: I thought about your wet birds when I posted it.

Dorothy: Thanks!

Ruth:Odd things always seem to appeal to me :-)

Naquillity: Thanks! It was nice to be out walking. This time of year is always busy outdoors.

George: It was a very nice butterfly and I was glad it held still long enough to pose for me.

Caroline: Thanks!

Becky: Thanks!

Thanks for taking us again! They call Pokeberry, Poke Salad down here. They say you can eat it but you have to boil it 3 times or it'll kill ya!!! hahahaha! I think I'll just get some spinach!

Mary said...

Eve: I'm with you on that! Spinach sounds a lot safer to eat! The birds are suppose to like the berries, but I never see them eating them. I have the plants popping up all over my property and get very irritated with it at times.

I really like the swamp with the ? duck weed? Where's the 'gator???

Mary said...

Robin: Thankfully, no gators in Indiana! LOL Lots of duckweed right now. Will start disappearing as fall comes along.
