I got the window seat for the flight from Dallas to Tucson, so of course I took photos. I won't bore you with all the cloud shots, but we eventually flew under the clouds for a long distance.
Being right over the wing, I could not get very good shots, but I was amazed at how desolate everything looks from up there. At one point I was watching vehicles on a road and wondering where they were going because there was nothing out there! Makes you wonder why anyone ever settled there.
I don't like my mountains quite this close to the wing.
It was getting dusk by the time we arrived, but of course I had to take a few shots of something!
One of Dorothy's 5 tortoises....still hibernating, but not covered up, so I could see him!
A bird that neither of us knows....a warbler, I'm guessing.
Fruit on a tree in her yard.
Back in St. Louis, I shot this video of one of the geese. I'm guessing this is a male doing his best to attract a lovely female for Valentine's Day? Either that or he was claiming the entire pond for himself! He strutted and bobbed all around the fountain with his chest all puffed out and just kept doing this over and over.

Such pretty views from the plane! I love that little bird. I can't identifty it either. Warblers are a whole new breed of bird to me and they confuse me because they look so much alike. I hope you can find out what it is.

Tom: if it gets warmer maybe they will wake up or I might see some somoe other types. I guess that is what they are. I believe you called them that from last year's photos.
WE're so glad you got there safely. I love flying, and I didn't ever took any pictures when I did fly.
The header is gorgeous! Also I didn't know tortoises hibernated in warm weather.
What are those lumpy fruit? They look interesting.

Becky:It isn't real warm here over the winter and they like it very warm. It can very fairly cool here at night especially. Not like back east, but still cold in comparison. 30's at night, low 60's day so far. The fruit is some sort of orange, I think, but not very tasty. I've seen the birds eat on them while here. I'll ask.

Geart pictures! I liked the video! The bird does look like some kind of yellow-throated Warbler. There are so many I couldn't tell which one. Have fun!
