Is it variety if it's the same every day??....

Yes and no, I guess. I never can complain about variety of birds.
My regulars are very faithful, coming every day. One of the White-Throated Sparrows
Carolina Wren trying the big suet block

Carolina Wren just watching from the maple tree.

I was looking at what birds were in this photo...dove, sparrows....and almost didn't see the dove sleeping in the leaves just above the snow. They enjoyed the bits of sunshine yesterday. Still very cold all day.

Nuthatch on the maple in the afternoon sun.

A Mockingbird showed up to eat a few bites. He is a very jumpy bird and spooks very easily. Of course, while they were all eating a hawk swooped through scaring them in all directions, so I guess he has reason to be jumpy! The hawk caught me by surprise and I didn't get a photo.

A Junco. I don't seem to take many photos of Juncos. They never seem to be in focus when I do take one. That pale pink bill doesn't show up well against the snow or in the seeds where they normally sit. I have a dozen or more of them around every day.

Chickadee resting.
Fat and fluffy!

Cardinals always like to come in the late afternoon to clean up what's left in the drive.
The Mrs. was out there, too........along with several more pairs.

I really like these American Tree Sparrows!
Lots of Cowbirds still.........maybe this weekend they will go away when it hits 50 degrees.
I guess I hope they stick around for the GBBC after being here for so long.

Another lovely series. I haven't seen a Carolina Wren at my feeder yet. They are such a cute little bird.

I was happy to see a male and female cardinal at the feeder a couple of days ago. I've heard the male calling around the neighborhood but this is the first time in 20 years that I've actually seen one in my yard. Now I need to get a photograph.

Denise: I hope you get one soon...they are such a pretty little bird.

John: I know when you do get a photo it will be excellent! If you ever get to Indiana, I can promise lots of Cardinal photos :-)

Beautiful collection, Mary.. I am still waiting to see a Mockingbird around here. Maybe in spring????

Where did the cowbirds get their names? Do they hang around where cows are???? ha ha

Have a great day.

Betsy: That's a good question about the cowbird. Will have to see what I can find.

Anne: Thanks!

Sandy: I can hardly wait! I'm tired of ice.

Ruth: She seemed very peaceful while everyone else was scurrying around eating :-)

Jenny: Really looks fat, doesn't he? As cold as it's been fluffing up like that must help keep warm.

I can't believe I'm so far behind with your posts. I never get tired of seeing the same birds. I can't really tell they're the same birds. They're definitely not the same shots. :-) They alwasy inspire me to keep trying to get those bird shots.
