This is so ......nothing.
I took 12 photos yesterday and these 3 were the best, which is not saying much!
My birds have apparently already gone on vacation without me.
My birds have apparently already gone on vacation without me.The weather was like spring and there were almost no birds out there whenever I looked out the window!
The cardinals were enjoying themselves but that was it!
Maybe that hawk is still hanging around that flew through last week.
Maybe I'm in a photo slump. I may just take the rest of the week off, if nothing pops up worth posting.
We head for Tucson this weekend and I know that I'll take lots of photos there :-)
My birds better come and enjoy their food now, because they won't get any next week!

Your birds look truly beautiful to me: lovely shades of red.
Seems to me on "slow" photography days that their purpose is to make me realize just how precious the good photography days really are. Arizona sounds like it will be awesome!

Coastcard: They are pretty red. Cardinals are lovely birds.
CountryDreaming: Good way to look at it! I've been spoiled by so many birds right on my doorstep most of the time, that a slow day really seems slow.
Kingsdower Steve: I'll hold that thought about the "trip" :-) I look for roadrunners every year when we go and have only seen one that darted across the road in front of our car one day. I would love to see one. Will do my best to find one.

Oh those are great photos, Mary.. I love seeing the red cardinals against the grayisy, wintry background.
I'm having the same problems. No new birds much and no new pictures. I guess, since the weather is better, that the birds are busy building nests and checking out other things. I'm sure they'll ALL be back!!!!
Have a great day and don't get discouraged. Do what I do and blog about OTHER things.

I feel the same way! Nothing much going on as far as posting anything. Maybe it's the full moon. I head to Missouri next week - maybe I'll find new inspiration as well.
I can't ever remember seeing that many cardinals at once at our house. We may see a couple, but that's about it.

I do hope you have a great time in Tucson ... my folks lived there for a few years ... too hot for my liking but okay at this time of year. You'll have fun with lots of new subject matter.
Wow Tucson...should be a lot warmer there. I like Tucson, especially the skyline as you drive down the freeway. We use to drive through there often on my way to visit my father in Tombstone when he was alive.
You would think there would be scads of birds due to the warm up.
Well mary, you should find lots to photograph here! I hope you have a safe journey! Will you be posting from Tucson? BTW, those are a lot of male cardinals! Wow!

There is never a day that I don't see 6 pair or more of cardinals. The females were out there, too, but I can't get them all in one shot :-)
I plan to post from Tucson, so I'm sure I'll have lots to show....probably won't equal the rattlers from last year, but that is OK with me!
Annie: We may pass each other in Missouri! We drive to St. Louis Friday night and fly out on Saturday from there. Then return on the 21 and stay another night.
Kathie: I've written down at least 3 suggestions from your blog already, including where you saw roadrunners :-)
Sandy: We went to Tombstone one year and watched the gunfight at the OK corral...what a lot of fun and I loved the cemetery! Maybe I should post old stuff from there until I leave.

I guess most people are feeling like you do Mary. At this time of year it seems as if winter will never end. Hold on there, not long to go now.
Shelley: I know I just have the "winter blahs". We have gotten 3 inches of rain so far today. Yuck! However, a pair of Mallards landed on the lake!

Joan: I know. And my winter is not half bad compared to those in the north! I'm ready to walk out the door and head to sunshine...if I get busy and pack!
Awww, don't you hate days like that? I actually like the first shot. All those little red birds all over the place. I think I'd blow a gasket if I saw them in my yard. :-)
