Since I left the squirrels back home in Indiana, here is a late "Bunny Sunday" substitute :-)
Dorothy's bunnies are just about as faithful as my squirrels. They know how scarce grass can be out here, so they stick around.
Peter cottontail hopping down the bunny trail....with a friend.

Racing past the bunny. Quail are always in a hurry it seems.
The House Finches out here seem bigger than mine at home. And this is the yellowish version.
Look at the color difference in these two!

Look at the color difference in these two!We spent most of the day Sunday at one of the Gem and Mineral Show exhibits after we got out of church. Beautiful stuff! I took 100's of photos of course. I am going to post some yellow minerals for Mellow Yellow Monday in my This, That and the Other Thing blog. Maybe I'll post some other colors each day. Hard to fit everything in!

Oh wow ... Love seeing all the unfamiliar Western birds as well as the bunnies. Hope a warbler expert comes along soon to help us out with an ID on these well-taken photos. This must be a really exciting trip for you. Can't wait to see the yellow minerals too!

I know nothing about your birds, but looking up on a US Bird website, it could be a Yellow-rumped Warbler.
I sure enjoyed this series...does the cactus wren have a pretty song...the versions I find on line are not as pretty but I know they don't always capture the whole range of songs from birds.
Wonderful pictures Mary. It has finally dawned on me why I never see birds in our yard. Our neighbors cat lives outside and has been catching a few birds lately.
Wow---those western birds are different from ours, aren't they Mary???? I love seeing that new woodpecker.. I've never even heard of that one. Wow!!!

Hi Mary, it definitely is a Yellow-rumped Warbler (proper job Roy!)
(-: It differs from the 'myrtle' eastern form. This is the 'audubons' form, hence the yellow throat.
That Gila Woody is a stunner and the Cactus Wren too! My only Cactus Wren sighting was in Texas at about 3pm on a boiling day! PHEW! Cos of the heat we didn't stick around too long to enjoy it enough! (-: Looking forward to more AZ posts.
I was glad to see some birds that we don't have around here. Some of them are really quite different. I enjoyed seeing Peter Cottontail as well.
It is great to see some wildlife not usually seen,at least around here.The Quail are interesting birds.

The male woodpecker appears to be showing you his head so you would know he is the male.
Love the photo of the rabbits with hind legs in the air, front down. Great action shot.
