Nothing happening....
Seriously......there has been very little bird activity on the homefront for a week now. Just the downys and the nuthatches and the little House sparrows that are mad at me for running out of food they like. Actually, I hope they go away soon. Here are a couple of pictures of dad and mom feeding Baby D.......who is so big, I don't know why he is still being fed!

I hope you enjoy your day too Mary. We have had some very cold days, so not much is happening here either. The birds only came down to eat at about 9am which is very late for them so I guess they were cuddled up warm in bed like me. LOL!!
Don't ya just love it. We have baby Grackles that are as big as the parents and will follow them around like shadows expecting a hand-out. As soon as the parents fly off, the kids WILL eat on their own. LOL:)
The house sparrows and starlings are eating me out of house and home. I haven't seen a chickadee or nuthatch in weeks because of them. They have babies, so I haven't stopped feeding them yet, but pretty soon I'm going to. I'm hoping they will move on.

Sandy: It was a super day to sit under the trees, eat barbecue and listen to music! Hope to go back later in the week some evening.
Joan: We did have a good day. Wish it were not so hot and muggy already, but under the trees it was very pleasant.
Becky: I know what you mean! The "babies" I see are always as big as their parents and harrass them unmercifully while sitting right by the food and could help themselves.
Sandpiper: The House Sparrows are the worst right now. They must have had about 8 babies and they all are eating everything in sight. I never had all these house sparrows until I started putting out millet seed. I may go back to sunflower and suet and nothing else! I hate to punish the other sparrow and the doves (although I have an abundance of doves at the moment, too).
We are probably going to give up on the suet....we can't udnerstand why there are no birdie takers.

JB: Well,... brand seems to make a difference. I recently bought some..."St. Albans Bay Suet Plus", and my birds won't touch it (but the ants do)! I normally buy "Wild Bird Suet Orange Dough" by C&S Products and the birds eat it up as fast as I can put it out there! In the winter I use that same brand with other flavors also, but the Orange seems to hold up best in the heat.
Mary, it's me again. About the bridge on my blog, yes it is in Parke County. Were you to the covered bridge festival? Either way, I have other pictures of covered bridges in my blog and they are all in Parke County.
I am browsing through some of your blog...you need to go down the side of mine and under labels look for the words 'Mama Squirrel' and on down just 'squirrels'--it looks like we have a lot in common.
Oh, I also meant to say I have another blog called The Road Less Photographed...I just started it the other day and I don't have much on it...actually I also started one of that title on WordPress but I do not like the way it works so I am thinking I will let it drop. But if you see a post from that blog, it is me. If you look under the about photography on the sidebar, you will see they are both c Rose Swalls.
