Spotted this Red Shouldered Hawk (?) yesterday while heading over to Henderson.
He was determined to ignore us.
I don't know if he had his eye one something else or just didn't care that we were there.
It's late and I will post more stuff from the last couple of days when I get it sorted out.

Hi Mary...He most likely has his eye on something...One got a bird from my feeder a few days back ..I don't like it but I guess that's life..or ..death lol

Hi Mary, You got a great picture of the hawk... I have noticed (and probably told you) that our big black Crows seem to protect the other birds from the hawks... The Crows will go crazy and make lots of noise when a hawk is nearby. I'm glad they do that.

Thanks for the Christmas card. It came between Christmas and New Years and it was really cute ... very like Mingus ... he'd try and peek through the mail slot if I had one! He likes it when I hold him up to the window, especially if he is concerned about something, so he can spy out the land and woof out his warnings. He is so funny.

We regularly see hawks as we drive up and down the valley. I used to count them as I drove home from work. As many as a dozen in the tallest tree in each area in the 35 miles from freeway interchange to freeway interchange.

These are great pictures of the hawk. I definitely think he has an eye on his meal.
