The usual variety of birds are stopping by daily....
I really like the Red-bellied Woodpecker. I think he is doing his abdominal exercises here.
Head left....pull up...tail right
Now repeat that several times.
House Finch female
Here comes the "peanut thief".......concentrate on the target...
...got it! I was trying to take videos of him stealing the peanuts, but he is pretty fast at times. Once in a while he stops and stuffs TWO of them in his beak at once! Such greed!
"I better get one before that Blue Jay hogs them all!"
How is he holding that????
Now repeat that several times.

The red bellied wp is a beauty. Birds are so fun to watch - I put the bird seed under entertainment when allocating expenses.
Your photos are great. I don't get any starlings at my feeders any more. Not sure why but I used to love watching them interact with each other. Happy New Year Mary. Thank you for sharing all your lovely photos over the last year, always so enjoyable.
Love the woodpecker. THose blue jays are greedy
Your birds are very pretty, Mary! Seems you always get good pictures of them! I was just now focusing on a female Cardinal and she started cocking her head to one side and then the other and did that several times pretty fast. It was so funny I LOL, but then, it doesn't take much to entertain old folks:-)
Great series of birds especially those woodpeckers. Boom & Gary of The Vermilon River.
I am so glad that people feed the birds in winter... That is so important I think... Mine flock to the feeders when the weather is bad --but truly, they come all of the time!!!!!
Great pictures, Mary... Love seeing that Tufted carrying that peanut!!!
Hugs,
Betsy
Another lovely set of visitors Mary, that woodpecker is fabulous.
That's a great bunch of birds Mary...and I guess if you've got to have Starlings...at least they're spotty ones!!
The birds entertain you and now by the pictures I have been entertained.Thanks.
Blessings,Ruth
I really like the pictures you got of the woodpecker, but all of these are good. I really enjoyed seeing that tufted titmouse grab the peanut.
