Merom, Indiana trip.....last post

From the overlook at Merom, you can drive down below to the edge of the Wabash River. I hate taking shots out of the car windshield, but it seemed easiest for this shot of the descending road.
The sides were nice rock faces, jutting here and there.

I particularly liked this rock with that rounded area.

At the bottom, you can look back up at those stairs that we didn't come down :-)

The light on the trees and the peaceful atmosphere gave me lots that I wanted to try to photograph.

Sometimes my eye is drawn to "arty" shots when there aren't any birds around, and this was one of those times. I liked these 2 tree trunks leaning in different directions, but it was hard to get just right.

Mostly I was entranced by the reflections of the trees on the water of this little "canal" running next to the big river. I walked along it a ways and would love to have just kept walking.

It looked like a watery street stretching into the distance.

The yellow leaves glowed in the sun, but it was hard to capture that light.

That is the last of my Merom, Indiana shots. It was such a nice day that stopping here and picnicking in the sunlight and watching the river was a real treat.

I'm taking a quilting class all day today, so might not get around to blogs, but I'll catch up with all of you eventually!
