Early evening brings the little chickadees to the feeders to try their new feeding skills. I've seen 3 for sure, so I'm pretty sure my family from the gourd survived.

Don't you just love Chick-a-dee-dee-dees. They are so precious.
I left my suet out (for the birds) while we were in NC.. BUT--when we returned, it was ALL gone.. Guess the possoms or Raccoons got it. Thoughts????

I do adore chicadees. When I was little, my dad used to call me his hickadee, somehow the loving thought still lingers.

Betsy: Probably raccoons. I try to remember to take down any suet that is hanging on a tree at night. If it is on the metal posts they don't seem to bother it as much.

Mike: They do move fast and I throw away as many shots as I keep. And they like the late afternoon light when I have trouble getting focus.
