Squirrel Sunday.....Ohio version

Move over "Star"......I'm in love with a little red squirrel! He's so cute, he looks like a chipmunk!
When I headed to Ohio, I was hoping to get over to Kent and let Tom a.k.a. The Fishing Guy show me Black Squirrels. But alas, we did not get that far. However, while in Springfield at Mike's brother's house, we saw this adorable little guy.
He was across the street playing with a sibling when I spotted him.

I went outside to take photos and he must have heard how much I like squirrels because he scampered across the street and up into a Blue Spruce tree that I was standing right next to!

This is dark, but I like it anyway :-)

I've never seen a Red Squirrel before, so this was new to me. They have white squirrels in the neighborhood, too, but the only one I saw took off very quickly.....but that is OK. I like this little Red Squirrel much better.
He is so pretty with that red tail and that circle around his eye.

He was so friendly I thought I might try hand feeding him, but when I went in to get something, he took off. I guess he was more afraid of me than I thought :-) I hope "the Star" doesn't find out that this little squirrel is on my computer desktop right now.

Very cute, much like our native red but without the ear tufts, nice post.

He is very sweet, very pretty and I can quite see how you would fall in love with him Mary. Try to keep it a secret from Star though! A x

Oh shame on you for prefering him above Star!! I have to admit that this is a very cute one though. :)

Has he just been to the beauty parlour to have the hair around his eyes bleached.

They may drive me crazy (along with the chipmunks)--but they are photogenic, aren't they?????

Have a great day, Mary..

That face is very hard to resist! It's a beauty! I'm sure this is just a holiday romance though and Star will be back at number 1 in your heart. (-:

They are cuties! And easily tamed! But be careful - they are "friendly chewers!" I had one take a nibble on my shoe a few weeks ago - loL!

Oh no, you better not let "Star" see your computer. How cute is this guy! Love it, and your pictures are so clear.

Thanks everyone! I'm sure Star doesn't have to worry too much, since I don't see this kind of squirrel here. I don't see grey ones much either. Fox Squirrels seem to have a monopoly on this area.

He seems very accustomed to 'posing' for photos. What a precious little creature...though you know he's probably a rascal at heart! I especially like the first photo of him.

He has beautiful facial markings. I've never seen a red squirrel either and I love this one. So adorable!

Mary: Those Red Squirrels are really precious because of their size. You did them justice with great photos.

I think Star would definitely be jealous if he knew about the red squirrel. You got some great pictures -- perhaps your fame has been spread by the squirrel grapevine.

Never seen anything other than gray squirrels here. He's a beauty. Or she's a beauty??
