My World Tuesday.....Teaching girl scouts to sew.

Each week we show something of our world on this great meme.
Thanks to Klaus and the rest of the team for the great job they do!

Today "My World" was as one of the ladies helping to teach this group of Girl Scouts how to sew a bag as a Christmas gift!
They are making these bags to be given to a shelter for women and children.
The bags will be filled with coloring books, crayons, flip flops and other personal items.
Susan, their leader is really teaching them to care about others and to give time to help those who need it. This is the second year we've helped them make gifts for the shelter and the girls are getting pretty good at their sewing!

It's fun helping them and they completed 36 bags!
Good job girls!

How wonderful is that. Our children these days are way to self absorbed!!!! Great way to teach life lessons. Not participating just curious.

What a great plan! Learn to sew and help others at the same time. The bags look great.

A wonderful idea and so much better than buying gifts.

Thanks everyone. Their leader is a member of our quilt guild, so we gladly help her with this every year. I'm very proud of the girls and their efforts to make something for others. The bags were real simple and they will provide the gifts to go in them, also. I'm sure the kids at the shelter really apprecate this at Christmas.

Fantastic and a big pat on the back for all of you. I love to read things like this, especially when it comes to teaching our young that it is better to give than to receive, especially to those in need. A good life's lesson for all of us really. And as always great photos.
