Do you ever notice that some Downy woodpeckers are a lot fuzzier around the beak than others??? I couldn't help but notice it with these photos from Satuday. This first one is really fuzzy.....top and bottom. It also is more white under the black eye stripe and along the neck.
The second one isn't anywhere near as fuzzy. Better barber??
