I went to Hartman Arboretum last week to look for butterflies. I was lucky to even find flowers! I did find one swallowtail butterfly!
A very nice Spicebush Swallowtail. That was it.
There were a few of the small skippers hanging around on the yellow flowers.
These flowers are rather tall for me to get good shots.
There were several skippers and bees and other bugs on these.
Back at home....
I have Mourning Doves enjoying the offerings of the "Driveway Diner".
Mouse thought she would try a little cat nap outside now that the temps have dropped 15 degrees. I think the shaving was a success! I will have to have this done every summer. After she got over her initial embarrassment of having all her fur shaved, she has decided it was a pretty good idea with the heat we have had! I'm getting used to seeing her look so strange and I know she is more comfortable.

Such a pretty kitty--haircut and all, and what a funny name. Does that mean she likes them or is afraid of them? Our cats have been enjoying being out on our screened in porch now that it is cooler once again.
Nice butterflies. I stood over one the other day for about 15 minutes waiting for it to open its wings. I guess he didn't like the idea of being photographed because he crawled down under the plant in the flowerpot. I gave up...It was too hot to wait in him to come out.
I like the picture with the Skipper on top of the flower against the blue sky.
That Butterfly is a beauty! Glad you gave it's name! All the black ones are hard for me to ID.
Can you feel my contentment also????? Our temps are milder and we finally had some rain today.... YEAH!!!!
Great set of pictures... Maybe all of the critters including the 4-legged ones will be happier with some milder weather.

Other than a Question Mark in the spring, I have not got one decent shot of a butterfly...and have even had opportunity for any decent shot.
I would love to have the nerve to shave my head...
Ha Ha I love Mouse. I do bet she is more comfortable. My old cat Maggie has burrs on her back from walking in the weeds and I'll be giving her a hair cut soon too.
