Ruby Tuesday........

I've never tried Ruby Tuesday before, but after seeing someone else's post I remembered these House Finch pictures that I took last year before my Dogwood tree died. I always like these pictures and actually plan to use one of them in a quilt.....
......I have this one printed on fabric and have the idea in my head (but stuck there unfinished along with many other projects).

Maybe this will "kick-start" this project for me again, since it is a fall scene :-)
For more Ruby Tuesday go HERE,

Hummingbird videos....

I don't think that I ever posted either of these videos that I took last month. Since the hummers will be leaving in another month, I figure I'd better post them now.

One way to fill up a slow day :-)

Summer is slowing down....

.....and apparently so am I. I just don't even feel like getting outside and taking pictures in this hot dry weather. We really need rain. Everything looks so dead and dreary right now. The vine growing on my dead tree has these pods and this pair of bugs really seem to like them.....but weren't very cooperative for a close-up. I seem to have lost whatever setting was working for close-ups on my camera and can't get it back.
The goldfinches decided that if I'm not going to give them Sunflowers, that Black-eyed Susans were the next best thing. This one spent quite a bit of time picking at these flowers yesterday.

I couldn't tell if he was eating the petals or the seeds, but the flowers are certainly looking scruffy where he is sitting!

He was enjoying them....that's for sure!

Focus problems again....can't seem to make the camera understand what it is that I want it to focus on. Half of this is focused, half of it isn't. (sigh)

Tiny moth. I stirred up a lot of these when I mowed the lawn.

Sparrow in the tree trying to decide whether to join everyone at the Driveway Diner.
Thanks to the skunks, I will be shutting down the Driveway Diner and the ground feeders will just have to go elsewhere. I'm tired of all the House Sparrows anyway and they are grown up enough to go find something else. The Cardinals will come to other feeders that I have.

Quilt Blog....Butterfly #2

I want to try keeping some of my quilt project stuff in a separate blog and maybe catalog my old quilt projects, so here is a link to my latest quilt project:
