For years we have had dozens of Fox squirrels to watch and for me to photograph, but now at our new residence, I also have a little Gray Squirrel. They are smaller and I think their coloration is very pretty. I'm thrilled to get to watch this little squirrel. I still have Fox squirrels and they are aggressive, so they tend to chase this one away from the feeders, but I got some good shots the other day right outside my window. See my previous post for the difference in the two squirrels.
I hope it has a mate and that I will see more of it.
I like the ears :-) and the delicate tinges of color.

Cute! We used to have some Grey Squirrels but now it’s the Red and the Fox Squirrel that are around.
I have bad news or you, If there are Grey Squirrels where you live and they start breeding, the Red squirrels will disappear.
Squirrels are just so cute and I tend to think the gray squirrels are just a tiny bit cuter. I never see one here in town but every now and then see one out when driving in the country. But that is very seldom.
Yes Grey Squirrels Mary, we have too many of them here and they were imported from the States.
It caused our Red Squirrel population to decline in many areas.
I'm sorry that Grey squirrels are such a problem in Great Britain for the red squirrels. Your little Red Squirrels are very cute. We don't have red squirrels where I live. I guess that any time people introduce foreign animals or birds it becomes a problem. We probably feel about the House Sparrows that came from England the same way you feel about the grey squirrels...we have way too many and they drive out more desirable birds.
